Founded in 1992 and located in Vilnius, Lithuania, the Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) is one of the largest contemporary art venues in the Baltic region. It organises a yearly programme of exhibitions, performances, film screenings, other events and a wide range of educational activities. The CAC also acts as a publisher. Every three years, it organises the Baltic Triennial – one of the most ambitious international exhibitions in Northern Europe. The CAC regularly oversees the Lithuanian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. In spring 2024, the CAC expanded its scope of activities by opening a new branch – the Sapieha Palace – and now offers approximately 3,000 sq. m of exhibition space, along with several spaces for special events.
